Smedbo Electric Towel Rails
Electric Towel Radiators
Electric Towel Warmers use electricity rather than hot water from a central heating system to heat the radiator. They are available in two main formats -
Dry Rails - As the name suggests, these towel warmers contain no liquid and instead have an element that spans most of the rail. They are generally low power / low wattage (less than 100W) and can remain on as needed without costing a fortune. Surface temperatures are relatively low.
Fluid Filled Rails - This type of electric radiator is filled with water + inhibitor or sometimes a heating oil and has an electric element at one side. The fluid inside the rails helps distribute the heat. The elements used in this type of towel warmer can range from 100W upwards.
Installation
For any electrical installation in a bathroom, the work must conform to building regulations and should be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician. The wiring for electric towel warmers must "hard wired" be through a fused spur - some of our warmers have optional hard wire adapter kits for a neat finish.
